metal basket turned light fixture, and a window makeover

I've been wanting to update the light fixture above

my kitchen sink for some time now.  I finally found

the perfect basket, purchased at a consignment

 store.

With just a little tweaking on the bottom,

we got it to fit perfectly.

Here's the before, and the fixture I have

hated for 6 years!

All we did was take the existing glass shade off and

 replace with the basket.

I also added some trim work around the window

to dress it up.

I cleared off the junk that had been accumulating

on the window ledge,

and added my pretty glass collection filled with

 pink flowers from my yard.

I love the frenchy farmhouse feel the new basket

light gives the space.

I also added a few accessories around the sink.

See what a little {primp}ing can do for

a small space?

Much better now.

P.S. {Primp}, The Shoppe is now open!

Just wanted to let you  know I  have opened an etsy shop which includes lots of yummy farmhouse goods, and fun items I have loved or would love in my own home.  Here is a sneak peak at some of the goods:

Check out the fab etsy widget on the sidebar to see more items and to visit my shop.

My etsy name is MoshPosh because that's how I set it up years ago, and don't know how to change it. (Up until now I have only bought things on Etsy.) But I think the name actually fits the shop quite well, because I will have a mosh posh of items for you to browse.

feathers and a lovely porch

This is porch #3 on a series of porch posts I've done this summer. If you missed my back porch or this cute blue one, be sure to check them out.

I found this cute porch one day,

while getting this little girl some feathers for her hair, which seem to be all the rage.  She chose a blue and green one, which incidentally match her pet bird "Chip" perfectly.

This salon always has some great inspiration, inside, and out.
Love the vintage suitcase planter, and the large chalkboard sign,

a colorful mix of chairs,

and a fun ornate frame to {primp} the door.

The mustard yellow chandelier is the icing on the cake.

It's not too late--if you have something to share, head over here to my linky party.

Also, I finally did it--{Primp}is now on facebook. If you are a fan of FB, I would love it if you would like me!

{Primp} your stuff Wednesday linky party #7

It's Wednesday, which means time to link up all your fabulous projects and ideas on {primp}ing your home.
Here's what I loved from last week:

4 The Love of Wood  revealed this lovely dresser with a lot of sanding.

Heaven's Walk made beautiful faux french pots using a little paint and modge podge.

Thrifty Decorating primped an old desk.

Maple and Magnolia made some beautiful sentimental art using her grandmother's old brooches.

European Paint Finishes shared her beautifully distressed dresser.

a vintage grainsack and galvanized tin pedestal

Here are a couple of my latest favorite finds: a galvanized tin pedestal and an old grain sack, both of which I've been wanting for a while.
I've wanted the tin pedestal since I saw this post at the Lettered Cottage.
Of course, mine doesn't hold anything quite as yummy, just apples for now.  When I tried to buy the tin pedestal it was sold out, however, after some research I found it here
Touch of Europe : Affordable Luxury
                                                     for $29.

Then I found a really cool, old grainsack too.
If you sign up for their newsletter you get $20 off your purchase--which was how I justified buying the grainsack, normally around $50, but this way I got it for only $30.  And, I got free shipping because my order was over $50.
Right now I'm using it for a runner on my table, but it will soon be used to upholster a chair that's been sitting in the garage for a couple of months.

Just a couple of new things to {primp} my dining area, and add some frenchy farmhouse feel.

{Primp} your stuff Wednesday Linky Party #6

It's time to party!  Prepare to be wowed. There was so much inspiration from last week's party--here are my favorites:

The Fisherman's Cottage showed her charming master bedroom, which I love so much I have two pictures to share.  Here is a peek at her bed ...

and a little desk in the corner of her room.

Before Meets After updated a dresser using beautiful gray paint.

The Shabby Blue Ribbon made a cool light fixture out of mason jars.

Our Wonderfilled Life sewed some beautiful pillows--love the huge ruffle and the number detail.

Sweet Vintage Decor finished this lovely grain sack bench.

3 Ring Cottage {primp}ed an empty sunroom using a vintage metal bed and lots of red accents.

Common Ground made a summer cloche using a rusted urn and seashells.

I can't wait to see what you have to share this week.  Grab my button and start linking!
