metal basket turned light fixture, and a window makeover

I've been wanting to update the light fixture above

my kitchen sink for some time now.  I finally found

the perfect basket, purchased at a consignment

 store.

With just a little tweaking on the bottom,

we got it to fit perfectly.

Here's the before, and the fixture I have

hated for 6 years!

All we did was take the existing glass shade off and

 replace with the basket.

I also added some trim work around the window

to dress it up.

I cleared off the junk that had been accumulating

on the window ledge,

and added my pretty glass collection filled with

 pink flowers from my yard.

I love the frenchy farmhouse feel the new basket

light gives the space.

I also added a few accessories around the sink.

See what a little {primp}ing can do for

a small space?

Much better now.

P.S. {Primp}, The Shoppe is now open!

Just wanted to let you  know I  have opened an etsy shop which includes lots of yummy farmhouse goods, and fun items I have loved or would love in my own home.  Here is a sneak peak at some of the goods:

Check out the fab etsy widget on the sidebar to see more items and to visit my shop.

My etsy name is MoshPosh because that's how I set it up years ago, and don't know how to change it. (Up until now I have only bought things on Etsy.) But I think the name actually fits the shop quite well, because I will have a mosh posh of items for you to browse.

keep primping,

  19. Love your basket light fixture. How much more light it must give you and adds so much more personality to the room. I've seen pictures of these before and always wanted to do it, but I'm not very handy with electricity and no hubby to do it for me. Newest follower.
