{primp}ing a (chalkboard) door

Here's this weekends project: a chalkboard door. Actually I feel funny calling it a project since it only took about 30 minutes to complete, including drying time.

This is my pantry door which is in the mud room off of the gargage--the ideal place for a grocery list, job list or any kind of note you want to make sure everyone sees.

I added a metal drawer pull I painted turquoise then distressed--a perfect place to hold the chalk.

{I love this old metal stool--found at the thrift store}

This will be perfect for my constant list making obsession.

I love it when a project comes out exactly how I envisioned, with no mishaps, or redos--kind of unusual. This is the kind of primping I like--quick and painless.

Now go forth and primp!

  1. I think your door looks's in the perfect spot! Great job, Michele!

  2. I love the way the door turned out and the drwer pull for the chalk, great idea! Thank you for sharing it on Masterpiece Monday. Have a great week! Mary :O)

  3. oh Ive been wanting to do something like this...youve done amazing!!!!!

  4. love it! I hate that I rent right now and can't paint, but I'm tucking this away for our future home :) I love the drawer pull too for a chalk holder. I saw that somewhere else and thought it was genius! The turquoise one you found is lovely.

  5. LOVE IT!! I'm working on a chalkboard door also, I might have to boorow your chalk holder idea.....I love that! Especially the color.

  6. This is fabulous and I love the pop of color on the pull, so pretty!

  7. Such a cute idea for a pantry door! The chalk holder is perfect!

  8. I really like it. Recently I bought some chalkboard paint to transform some old Silver Trays into Glam Chalkboards for the G-Kids that would match Gramma's Decor *I'm anal like that, winks*... however, since Princess T, age 5, gets into EVERYTHING, until I was ready to do the project I "hid" the Chalkboard Paint so she wouldn't get into it... apparently REALLY well... because now I can't find it! *le sigh* Ah well, back to the Craft Store I guess... *winks*

    Glad to have found your delightful Blog... through the White Wednesday Blog Party...
