Ladder love {times three}

I recently found this big old orchard ladder that barely fit in my van. I should have taken a picture of that. I had it wedged all the way up on the dashboard, touching the front windshield. And it was just a tad bit too long to shut the back door down so I had to tie it down with some ribbon I luckily found while rummaging through my car.

It was even a foot or two longer than this, I just cut it down a little.  My favorite part is the base which is so wide, it was hard to find a spot for it in my house.

Ladder #2 has found a spot in my sewing nook.

Ladder #3 was actually my 1st ladder I ever found.  I was so excited to find an oldie like this, and even more excited to see a "free" sign taped to the front. It has become the backdrop for my first and only reupholstery job on this grain sack chair.

I think, for now, I will stop at 3 ladders.

a few of my collections and I can finally cross an item off my to-do list

I have a few things that I'm always keeping my eyes open for to add to my collections, including...

grain sacks in my farmchic buffet.

Glass bottles and a really old chippy mirror make for a simple mantle.

I finally put up some plates I have been collecting {which have been taking up space in the cupboard}.  It's almost mid April and I can now check off the first item on my 2013 to-do list.  Lots more to go. Let's hope my motivation will return along with warmer weather!

Primp Your Stuff Wednesday Linky Party #88

Happy Wednesday! It's time to link up all your fabulously primped projects, including anything you have made, or made to look better, or anything you have found to {primp} your space.

Here are my favorites from 2 weeks ago {sorry for my absence last week, we were enjoying a much needed Spring break!}:

Living a Cottage Life shared her wing-back chair slipcover tutorial.

The Junk Nest primped this pretty trunk with just a little paint.

I'm so jealous of Dimples and Pig Tales' old door find--they make the perfect headboard!

Thanks for the inspiration!

Now it's time to be inspired again.

Primp Your Stuff Wednesday Linky Party #87

Happy Wednesday! It's time to link up all your fabulously primped projects, including anything you have made, or made to look better, or anything you have found to {primp} your space.

Here are my favorites from last week's party:

Knick of Time added a simple yet sweet touch to a deconstructed lamp shade, using basic twill tape.

Blue Roof Cabin made a huge change in her kitchen by simply swapping out a builder's basic cabinet for a DIY custom cabinet with open shelves.

I love how Moonbeams and Fireflies used vintage found books to primp her space with some pretty vignettes.

Thanks for the inspiration!

Now it's time to be inspired again.

Spring is {finally} here

Finally ... it's here.

Although it does not feel like it today, I am enjoying the little bouts of sun and warmth mixed in with the cold.

All these images can also be found here on instagram

I'm loving my old decorative books found while thrifting.

Bunny topiaries stand guard on the front porch.

You can find lots of eggs around here. Some real, some not.

I'm happy that our chickens are back to laying eggs every day.

I've been wanting to make one of these jewelry racks out of an old rake, inspired by Funky Junk Donna, for a long time. Now I can finally check it off my mental to-do list.

I had a fun time at the Vintage Whites Market, and fell in love with this grain sack chair. All the booths were so amazing.  I was lucky to get an early entry and got to get first dibs on all the fun stuff--thanks Jana! I came home with some fun new finds including some of those little blue fruit crates.  They had a zillion there and now wish I had bought more.  I'm going to be using them for my Easter table setting.

I hope you are enjoying the start of Spring as much as I am.
